Summer Circus Camp 2023

24-28th August 2023 @ Chyan Farm.

Have a go at a full range of circus skills from high wire to trapeze, unicycle to acrobatics and much more.With incredible trainers , you’ll come away from our circus camp with a host of incredible new skills.

Our trainers are skilled in their field and cater to all levels and abilities

The onsite vegan cafe will be loaded with lots of deliciousness and you can take sometime to really relax at Spa Soma with a natural spring-fed pool, wood fired hot tub & wood fired sauna.

Connect with your inherent creativity, expression and natural voice!

A safe and interactive space to play, experiment and collaborate with others
using the voice, movement and body percussion.

Open to all levels (there are
no mistakes, just explorations!) Under 14s to be accompanied by an adult.
The workshop will include fun, collaborative games and tools for in-the-
moment music-making, and we will learn songs from around the world in
different languages, including Lingala (DR Congo).

We will also explore:
– Movement and sound-based practices for release and general well being.

-Sounding and connecting with the resonance of your natural, embodied

Circle Singing (group singing connected to ancestral ways)

Connection to self, environment and other through sound

Liz is an experienced vocal and community music leader, with over 12 years
experience working with people of varied backgrounds and abilities. She uses
music and the Arts for social connection, well being and education.

These activities are designed to build confidence, encourage connection, co-
creation and empowerment.

On this retreat we will explore different forms of devotional singing, world cultures and voice practices such as overtone singing and chakra toning

We are also blessed to be supported by Lyndz Jeanne and Luna again, who will be offering their unique weave of yoga sessions with healing soundscapes. Nourishing, wholesome food to eat, plus the Spa Area (including sauna), which is a new feature this year, and also there will be a group visit to sing at the sea!

All levels of singing ability are welcome, so come along for a truly heart opening, transformative experience

Ravi Freeman Cornwall retreat





Ravi is a singer, voice event facilitator, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and one of the longest established Western players of the kora (West African harp).

His music is the result of a lifetime exploring the edge, through world music, tribal cultures, throat singing and a journey that has taken him from India to the Amazon, Africa and beyond. Ravi has crystallised his 40 years as a musician and singer into developing ways of journeying together with our voices in the most beautiful and joyful way possible, creating an instant choir experience that is accessible as possible to all ages and levels of singing ability

As well as over 20 albums, international performances and workshops and the invention of the electric/stereo kora, Ravi has also worked with artists such as Deva Premal and Miten, Nigel Kennedy, Jon Lord, Phil Manzanera, Baaba Maal, Dr John, Ronu Majumdar and Marlui Miranda. The most recent albums are “Songs for the Golden Age” and “Two Rivers” with master flautist Adrian Freedman.

Ravi has also led workshops and lectured at various Universities, schools and centres such as Colorado State University; Northfield College, Minneapolis and various cultural centres in Ireland, Brazil, Italy, Australia, at The Glastonbury Symposium, and elsewhere around the world.

During the retreat, Ravi will share some of the stories and history behind different voice styles, instruments and their cultures, all from direct experience

Rikk Smith ( will be joining us this year. Originally from United States, Rikk is a great percussionist and also makes and plays Native American Flutes. This is a recent short clip we filmed in a cave at one of Cornwall’s best beaches, Kaynance Cove


Lyndz Jeanne of Liquid LIght Sound Therapies brings songs of many cultures as well as mantra and healing prayers to the circle to invite and welcome the voice to sing from the heart.

Having trained and travelled as a sound healing practitioner through various locations and indigenous cultures, she works with multiple modalities of sound transmissions taking you on a sound journey and energy healing. Clearing chakras, removing stagnation, relaxing the nervous system-all supporting compassionate growth and evolution in these times.




When Yoga, Meditation and Buddhism found Luna in 2003, she was in a place of utter disconnection from self and heart space with mental health problems and addictions. Taking the firsts steps back out into the world took courage and strength and regular yoga and mediation classes were the start of an holistic healing process.

The following 10 years a profound love for the mountains and snowboarding emerged and here she fused her two main passions together. Whilst living in Canada in 2010, Luna discovered Yin yoga and experienced the potent and deep healing benefits of this meditative practice. Knowing how beneficial it was for herself, she felt she needed to bring Yin into her teaching. Enjoying the dynamic strengthening asana practice of Hatha to be balanced with the passive meditative discipline of Yin. And this is where she is today. Bringing a fusion of these two traditions into her practice to open to a deeper connection and awareness, while lengthening what is being strengthened.





Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8 week course.

This course is a blended course. You can attend in person or join online.

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention. When we practice mindfulness, we are training ourselves to be fully present in each moment, meeting our experience of ourselves and the world around us exactly as it is. This enables us to become skilled at working with our mind and our mental states.

Staying in touch with the present in this way, from one moment to the next, may lead you to experience yourself differently, perhaps feeling less stuck, or recognising more strength, balance and confidence in yourself. Research has shown that most people completing the programme report lasting physical and psychological benefits including:

  • Greater self-confidence and more acceptance of life as it is
  • An increased ability to cope effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations
  • An increased ability to relax and experience calm
  • More energy, enthusiasm and appreciation for life

What does the course involve?
You will be taught in a group of maximum 16 people. The course consists of 8 sessions of 2 hrs and one extended day of mostly silent practice. The silent day usually takes place on a Sunday after session 6. There will also be daily home practice of one hour. You will have handouts and audio files / downloads to help you with your home practice.

Getting the most out of the course will require some work on your part. It requires a strong commitment to work on yourself through a gentle but rigorous daily discipline of meditation and movement practice. Making the commitment to devote the time needed for this personal exploration can feel difficult, but most people consider it worthwhile.
Once your application has been accepted, you will be invited to an ‘orientation’ session where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and to meet some of your fellow group members.

Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for most people. We all experience difficulty in our lives and the course can teach skills to help manage difficulty. Some participants come to the course because of a specific physical or mental health problem; others come to help themselves with more general stresses. Sometimes people want to do the course for professional reasons: to improve performance, leadership and sometimes as first step towards learning to use the approach to help others. It is important that everyone fully participates as themselves and not as an observer.

We are offering FREE taster days to those who are considering this enriching course. This course provides skills in gardening, orchard, vegetable and fruit production with a veganic approach; linking to local producers and opportunities.
